Ann Curry

Ann Curry, an American photojournalist and journalist, who has been covering wars, natural disasters over the past 45 years, is focused on the plights of those within these zones. Curry covered wars in Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19th 1956 in Agana American journalist and TV anchor and news reporter who was well-known for her role as a reporter for the Today program, which was a morning news program that aired on the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry is famous for reporting humanitarian crises and natural disasters and natural disasters, particularly in countries that have been devastated by conflicts. Curry was born in Japan and raised by a Japanese mother. Her father was an U.S. Navy sailor. The couple met when her father was in Japan after World War II. In the wake of her father's army service the family moved often. They ultimately relocated to Ashland Oregon where Curry attended the high school. In 1978 she graduated in 1978 from her school at the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in journalism. The likelihood is that she has acquired an empathy-based communication style through her exposure to different cultures throughout her life. Curry wasn't able to go to a single school for longer than two years due to her family relocated frequently. Her schooling was in Alameda, San Diego as well as Virginia. Ashland was her last high school. She was on the path to a successful career when she started her broadcasting career as an intern in KTVL Channel 10 in Medford Oregon. She was later the first female news reporter for the station, at 22. In the following years, she worked as anchor/reporter on KGW located in Portland Oregon. After that, she moved to Los Angeles four years later in the role of a reporter at KCBS TV. In her time with the channel, she won 2 Emmy Awards.
